November 2016: Congratulations to Trevor, Ted, Tyler, Trina and Kayla for their work on the boracarboxylation of vinyl arenes that was

 

October 2016: The Group welcomes graduate student Steven Knowlden. Notashia's collaborative work characterizing the electronic

                         properties of furan-containing nanohoops synthesized by the Wang group was recently published in

                         Chemistry: A European Journal. Way to go Notashia, Behzad, Haresh, and Changfeng!

 

August 2016: The Group welcomes undergraduate student Clayton Stewart.

 

July 2016: Congratulations to Rachael Pickens for successfully defending her M.S. thesis on the reactivity of Cp*–Group IX complexes

                   with ambiphilic ligands. We also say goodbye and wish you the best of luck on your PhD studies at Ohio University!

 

June 2016: We say a goodbye and wish the best of luck in grad school to Trevor and Ted. We will miss you!

                   We also welcome summer REU student Kayla Kroner from Drake University.

 

May 2016: Great job to all that presented posters at the CERM meeting in Covington, KY! All had a great time at the conference and

                  at the Reds-Indians baseball game.

 

 

April 2016: Trevor was named an NSF Graduate Fellow and Ted received Honorable Mention. Trevor will start his graduate work with Prof.

                   Hartwig at UC-Berkeley and Ted will start his graduate work at the University of Michigan in the fall.

                   Way to go Trevor and Ted!

 

March 2016: An NSF-REU proposal for a Site in the Department of Chemistry was approved for funding. Prof. Richards-Babb is the

                     PI and Prof. Popp is the co-PI. Thanks go to all in the Department that contributed to the proposal effort!

 

February 2016: The Group welcomes graduate student Notashia Baughman.

 

August 2015: The Group welcomes undergraduate students Ted McClain and Tyler Hamilton.

 

July 2015: Trevor's collaborative work characterizing the electronic properties of thiophene-containing nanohoops synthesized by the

                  Wang group was recently published in Organic Letters. Way to go Trevor, Haresh and Behzad!

 

November 2014: The Group welcomes graduate student Jessica Rogers.

 

September 2014: We say goodbye and wish the best of luck to Vaishali. We will miss you greatly!

 

August 2014: An NSF-MRI proposal for the acquisition of a in-situ infrared spectrometry system for the Department of Chemistry was

                       approved for funding. Professor Popp is a co-PI on the project and he was the lead author of the proposal.

 

April 2014: Trevor was awarded the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. Only 283 scholarships are awarded annually in this national

 

March 2014: The Group welcomes graduate students Rachael Pickens and Trina Perrone.

 

January 2014: The Group welcomes Visiting Scientist Dr. Ajaya Sankura Warrier and undergraduate Ashley Long.

 

November 2013: Trevor was named a NASA Undergraduate Scholar. Way to go Trevor!

 

August 2013: An NSF-MRI proposal for the acquisition of a new X-ray diffractometer for the Department of Chemistry was approved for

                       funding. Prof Popp is a co-PI on the project.

 

June 2013: The Group welcomes WVU undergrads Trevor Butcher and Kyle Smith and St. Francis University undergrad Frank Youmbi

                    (WVNano REU) to the group.

 

May 2013: We received an ACS-PRF grant for our work on the organometallic chemistry of late-transition-metal zwitterions.

 

February 2013: The Group welcomes Postdoc Dr. Vaishali Vajpayee to the group.

 

January 2013: Behzad F. grew his first X-ray quality crystals of a new biphenolate ligand. The X-ray diffraction data was acquired and

                         refined successfully over the weekend thanks to Prof. Jeff Petersen. Way to go Behzad!

 

November 2012: Jonathan was named a NASA Undergraduate Scholar. Way to go Jonathan!

 

October 2012: The Group welcomes first year graduate student Merton Pajibo to the group.

 

September 2012: The Group welcomes undergraduate Jonathan Turner to the group.

 

August 2012: An NSF-MRI proposal for the acquisition of a new 400 MHz NMR spectrometer for the Department of Chemistry is approved

                       for funding. Professor is a co-PI on the project.

 

May 2012: The Group welcomes undergraduate Nicholas Burock. Brian N. grew his first X-ray quality crystals of a new rhodium complex

                  last week. The X-ray diffraction data was acquired and refined successfully over the weekend thanks to Prof. Jeff Petersen.
