One of the most pressing problems facing the United States today is the rapidly increasing cost of healthcare. This rising cost of healthcare, which has far outpaced the annual increase in income, poses a significant challenge for most families. The long term goal of the project is to improve health and well-being by accelerating decision making for smart health applications, through the development and application of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, exploiting the available massive heterogeneous biomedical datasets. Activities under this collaboration will lead to reduced cost of healthcare, and to improved workforce development in leading-edge technology areas of data science, AI, and smart health.

This project is a collaboration involving five key partner institutions in West Virginia and Arkansas, seven other universities across the two states, and other stakeholders.
