Not a born physicist, Jinling, after many years in the field and a long time seeking, found that science is the field that really fascinates her. Jinling is interested in the understanding of basic laws and strives for creative ideas. Currently, she focuses her efforts in ferroelectrics and related topics. She plans to continue her search for physics knowledge in her future career.

Research topic: MOKE of thin magnetic bilayers upon H2 absorption

I have been in the Solid State field for a very long time. Most of my research has involved ferroelectric/magnetic and multifunctional materials. I spent 2 years at Penn State in a Neuroengineering program designing brain implants and performing experimental neurosurgery. My main interests are the design and fabrication of new electronic/magnetic devices and biomedical implants. I am currently studying the effects of CO2 adsorption on thin PZT films with Second Harmonic Generation and possibly SMOKE.

Undergraduate: (2007-2011) St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA

I started graduate school at WVU in 2010. My research is on the growth and characterization of magnetoelectric wedge samples, and using optical techniques such as second harmonic generation to characterize the samples.
