I am an Associate Professor of Philosophy at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. I also serve as Chair of the Philosophy Department. I’ve been at WVU since 2007. Before that, I was a Faculty Fellow Researcher and Lecturer in Philosophy at UC San Diego. I earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy from UC Riverside in 2005. I am originally from South Carolina and I did my undergraduate work (and some graduate work) at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

I work on ethics, moral psychology, and philosophy of agency. My current research focuses on approaches to moral responsibility and conceptions of blameworthiness. I regularly teach classes on ethical theory, symbolic logic, and the philosophy of law; I sometimes teach upper-division courses on moral responsibility or free will.

Please feel free to contact me here if you have any questions or comments about my research or teaching.
