PeopleNet - A Mobile Sensing
Testbed, The Ohio State University, June 2008
PeopleNet is a mobile sensing testbed at Ohio State,
comprising cellphones integrated with 802.15.4 radio based Intel psi-motes, that
also contain accelerometers and motion sensors. Applications can be written in
PeopleNet for social networking such as buddy messaging, for querying objects
of interest such as status of elevators in the building and for surveillance
applications such as tracking. I have been involved in the following aspects in
this project: localization of mobile units using low power radios, application
for monitoring conference rooms, developing interfaces on the cell phones for
using different applications and deployment of a static sensor network that is
used to aid programming of cell phones and health monitoring.
