Old Announcements:
- As discussed in
class, Quiz 1 will be given on Friday, January 31, and it will be
on the values of sin, cos, and tan of the angles π/6, π/4, and
π/3. You must know these 9 ratios without a calculator, and
you must get all 9 correct to get full credit on the quiz.
If you not get full credit on the quiz, you will get the
opportunity to retake the quiz at a later date for half credit.
- As announced by email, Exam 1 will now be given on
Monday, February 17. It will cover material from Chapter 7
and Chapter 8. You should bring a scientific calculator to
use, but no graphing calculators will be permitted, and no notes
or books will be permitted.
- As voted on in class, Exam 2 will now be given on Friday,
March 28. It will cover material from Chapter 9 and Sections
10.1 and 10.2.
- As discussed in class, Quiz 2 will be given on Friday,
March 14 on trigonometric identities. You will need to know
the formulas for the addition and subtraction identities for sin
and cos, double-angle identities for sin and cos, reduction of
powers identities for sin and cos, and half-angle identities for
sin and cos. Additionally, you should still know the
reciprocal, quotient, and Pythagorean identities from earlier in
the course.
- As discussed in class, Quiz 3 will be given on Friday,
April 11 on graphs of polar equations. You will need to be
able to sketch the graph of a basic polar equation (circle,
cardioid, or rose), and also check polar equations for symmetry.
- As a reminder, Exam 3 will be given on Wednesday, April
