Announcements:
- The Final Exam will be given on Wednesday, May 1 from 10:00
am to 11:50 am in the usual lecture room. It will cover
material from the entire course. You may bring and use a
scientific calculator, but no notes or textbooks will be
permitted. To help you study for the exam, you may wish to
review this list
of exam material and this list of practice problems.
Homework Assignments
All homework will be completed via MyOpenMath. You may find
the weekly homework assignments and due dates there.
Old Announcements:
- As a reminder, Exam 1 will be given in
class on Friday, January 26, and will cover material from Sections
2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3.1, and 3.2. No notes, books, or
graphing calculators will be allowed, but you may bring and use a
scientific calculator.
- As a reminder, Exam 2 will be given in class on
Wednesday, February 14, and will cover material from Sections 3.3,
3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9. No notes, books, or graphing
calculators will be allowed, but you may bring and use a
scientific calculator.
- As discussed on February 16, the following policy will be
implemented from February 19 to February 23 to give students a
chance to bring their Exam 2 grade up to at most 70%:
- A student may retake a different version of Exam 2 one time
between February 19 and February 23.
- For any student who chooses to retake the exam, their score
for Exam 2 will be the minimum of their score on the retake
version and 70%. That is, anyone who earns 70% or better
on the retake version will have their Exam 2 score recorded in
the gradebook as 70%. (Therefore, students who already
earned 70% or better on Exam 2 would have nothing to gain
gradewise and potentially much to lose by retaking the exam.)
- Anyone can take the new version of Exam 2 during any of my
in-person office hours between February 19 and February
23. If anyone is interested in a retake but cannot make it
to my regularly scheduled office hours, please email me, and we
can arrange a time that works.
- This policy is for Exam 2 only! Due to the importance of
the material in Exam 2, this is being treated differently than
other exams, and future exams will likely not have similar
policies.
- As a reminder, Exam 3 will be given in class on Friday,
March 8, and will cover material from Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4,
4.5, 4.6, 4.7, and 4.8. No notes, books, or graphing
calculators will be allowed, but you may bring and use a
scientific calculator.
- As a reminder, Exam 4 will be given in class on Wednesday,
April 10, and will cover material from Sections 4.10, 5.1, 5.2,
5.3, 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6. No notes, books, or graphing
calculators will be allowed, but you may bring and use a
scientific calculator.
