Old Announcements:
- Exam 1 will be given on Friday, February 2 and will cover
the material in Chapter 1 and in Section 2.1. No notes,
books, or graphing calculators will be permitted during the exam,
but you may bring and use a scientific calculator.
- As announced in class today after consultation with the
students in attendance, the date of Exam 2 has been tentatively
moved to Wednesday, February 28. If anyone has any
major concerns or complaints about this change, please let me know
by this Friday, February 16. Based on any feedback I get by
then, I'll make the final decision about the Exam 2 date at that
time.
- After hearing no objections during the feedback period,
the date of Exam 2 has now been officially moved to Wednesday,
February 28.
- Exam 2 will be given on Wednesday, February 28, and will
cover the material in Chapter 3, as well as the material about
discrete random variables from Sections 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, and
2.6. No notes, books, or graphing calculators will be
permitted during the exam, but you may bring and use a scientific
calculator.
- Exam 3 will be given on Friday, March 22, and will cover
the material about continuous random variables from Sections 2.2,
2.3, and 2.4, as well as the material in Sections 4.1, 4.2, 5.1,
5.2, and 5.3. You will be provided a copy of the tables of
probabilities for the standard normal random variable that was
given in class. No additional notes, books, or graphing
calculators will be permitted during the exam, but you are
encouraged to bring and use a scientific calculator.
- Exam 4 will be given on Friday, April 19 and will cover
the material in Chapters 6, 7, and 8. No notes, books, or
graphing calculators will be permitted during the exam, but you
may bring and use a scientific calculator.
- The statistics portion of the course has many problems

You will be able to download a .zip file containing the data sets
