Required Materials for Chem 235
1. Laboratory Notebook
- You will need a spiral bound laboratory notebook with duplicate pages for recording your laboratory observations and results. The notebook can be purchased online or at the WVU bookstore. You may be able to find cheaper versions available from another vendor. It is really not necessary that you have the "organic chemistry" version.
2. Chemical Splash Goggles
- Available online or at the WVU Bookstore. It is recommended that you purchase your goggles from the bookstore to ensure that you receive the proper type.
- You can use your goggles from Chem 115/116 if you still have them.
- Safety glasses and woodworking goggles that contain ventilation holes are not appropriate for Chem 235 lab.
3. Laboratory Apron
- Available at the WVU Bookstore. It is recommended that you purchase from the bookstore to ensure that you receive the proper type of lab apron.
- You can use your apron from Chem 115/116 if you still have it.
4. Molecular Models
- You should have a molecular model set to use in both lecture and lab.
The Duluth set is highly recommended and can be purchased online (link). Any molecular model set will due. It is not required that you have this specific brand.
