About me

I am a 2016-2017 Golden Bear Scholar and associate professor in and chair of the department of mathematics at West Virginia University Institute of Technology. I graduated from Harvey Mudd College in 2002 with bachelor degrees in Engineering and Mathematics. I completed a Masters in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University in 2005 and a Masters in Mathematics at Louisiana State University in 2010. I finished my doctoral degree in mathematics at Louisiana State University in 2011. My PhD advisor, James Oxley, taught me everything I know about structural matroid theory, the topic of my dissertation. My collaborators on published or submitted papers in matroid theory include Nick Brettell, Rutger Campbell, Carolyn Chun, Tara Fife, Kevin Grace, Dillon Mayhew, Tyler Moss, Steve Noble, James Oxley, Charles Semple, Dan Slilaty, Geoff Whittle, Joe Zhou, and Stefan van Zwam.
