Graduate Students:
Sujata Sengupta (Class of 2005) Hi! I received both my bachelors and masters degree in Chemistry from Miranda House, University of Delhi, India after which I worked for a short period at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories LTD., Hyderabad India, one of India's leading pharmaceutical companies. Currently I am a graduate student here in the Department of Chemistry at WVU and have joined Dr. Shi's group in fall of 2005. Cheng Zhong (Class of 2005) Cheng was raised up in North China, was supposed to be a high school teacher after his undergraduate study in Hebei Normal University, Shijiazhuang, China. But he happened to be enrolled into Sun Yat-sen University in 2003 and got his MS degree following Prof. Lin Ma. And then happened to come to WVU in 2005 Fall and joined Dr. Shi's research group, enjoying and sufferring... Wenyan Liao (Class of 2006) Hi, I’m Wenyan. I receive my B.S. degree from the Chemistry Department of Wuhan University, China. After that, I came to WVU and join in Dr. Shi’s group in the fall, 2006. It’s really enjoyable to study in this group....(check Wenyan's publications 2008-OL-B, 2009-ChemComm-B)
Wuming Yan (Class of 2008 spring) Wuming did his undergraduate study at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. After received his B.S. degree in June 2006, he worked one year in the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation(SINOPEC) at Guangzhou. In Spring 2008, he joined Dr. Shi’s group in the chemistry department of WVU.(check Wuming's publications 2008-OL-C, 2009-BMCL)
Hello, I came to WVU and joined in Dr. shi's group in the fall, 2008 after I received my B.S. in Beijing Normal University. Here I find a lot of things need to do, the road goes ever on and on. But now, it's just the beginning of a new journey ...
Lekh Nath Sharma Gautam (Class of 2008) Hello everybody. Currently, I am a graduate student in WVU, Department of Chemistry and joined to Prof. Dr. Shi's research group in Fall 2008. I have received both B. Sc. and M. Sc. degree in chemistry (Major Organic Chemistry) from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. After that I worked as a teacher in CDC, T. U. and some other undergraduate colleges for three years. Then, I joined in Natural Products Research Laboratory (NPRL), a leading governmental research institute, as a research officer and did some works in Phytochemistry. I always enjoy the organic chemistry. The way ahead is fascinating and challenging.
Postdoc/Visiting Scholar:
Yunfeng Chen Yunfeng Chen received his BS in 1999 from Hubei Normal University. Then he served a chemistry teacher for a senior school. After then, he came to Central China Normal University and received his Master’s degree following Prof. Mingwu Ding and PhD degree following Prof. Anxin Wu in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He came to WVU and joined Dr Shi’s group in August 2007 as a postdoctoral research associate.
