OVERVIEW

The Grand Egyptian Museum complex is extremely flexible and suitable for permanent and temporary exhibitions with an attendance up to 15,000 visitors per day. It contains a library, a research center, restoration laboratories, a museum for children and one for people with disabilities, a public square with shops (particularly a specialized museum gift shop), cafes and restaurants, and an open air museum and parking facilities.

The new museum is designed in such a manner to create a world class complex capable . The technological infrastructure of the complex allows (through utilizing the latest computer and communication technology) for the creation of modern archives and a library capable of facilitating the management, maintenance, and preservation of the collection, as well as research-related activities.

CONSERVATION CENTER

he GEM's Conservation Center is considered to be the heart of the whole. Built on an approximate area of 7,000 m² the GEM Conservation Center is expected to be the largest Conservation Center in the Middle East. Equipped with its own Energy Center, Fire Station and Service Facilities, the Conservation Center building is considered as a major part of the Egyptian Cultural evolution and Heritage.

PARKS & GARDENS

CAFES & RESTAURANTS

The Cafe will be located at the apex of the ‘Land of Egypt Park’. It occupies the end corner of the garden providing a majestic view over the Land of Egypt Park ‘and Museum. The cafe is seen as a calm rest space shaded by a dramatic roof and cooled by the trickling water of the ‘Nile Park’. The ‘Nile Park’ spills out to flood the cafe floor plate creating Nile bank side seating. It would operate as a cafe/bar type establishment serving light refreshments.
