I covered half of section 1.1 and passed out an exercise sheet.

I finished section 1.1 and started section 1.2

I finished section 1.2. Quiz Friday.

I covered section 1.3 Quiz on 1.1 and 1.2 Friday.

I started section 1.4 covering simpification, multiplication and division of rational expressions. Then I gave a quiz.

I passed back Quiz 1(with solutions). I finished section 1.4 covering addition and subtraction of rational expressions. I announced a homework assignement due Monday. HW 1.4 #28, 46, 70, 72 and 1.5 #12, 28, 38, 44

I covered the material relating to the first 70 questions of section 1.5. Homework due Monday.
Monday Sep 9
I finished section 1.5 and covered everything but the word problems in section 1.6. Homework #1 was collected.
Wednesday Sep 11
First I passed back HW1(with solutions). I covered word problems in section 1.6 and finished section 1.7. I will assign hw from 1.7's word problems on Friday. Monday's Exam I covers 1.1 - 1.7 (excluding 1.7 word problems).
Friday Sep 13
Exam I was moved to Wednesday. Today I covered absolute values from section 1.6 and section 2.1. (Section 2.1 exercises 1-62 every other odd). Section 2.1 will not be on Exam I. I passed out the solutions to an old exam. We will review on Monday.

I collected HW 6 and passed out HW6 solutions. I review for Final. Note the final will cover material from Exam 2 and Exam 3 as well as the material covered on the last homework assignment. The only part of Chapter 1 that will be directly quesstioned is section 1.7 which did appear on Exam 2. For the final you may have a graphing calculator, or a regular calculator and a 3x5 notecard.
