Twenty-Fourth Annual Mathematics and Science Bowl

West Virginia University Institute of Technology

WVU Tech's Twenty-Fourth Annual Math and Science Bowl will take place on Thursday November 17, 2011 on the second floor of the Engineering Laboratories Building.  This event is a preliminary round of the United States Department of Energy's National Science Bowl. Our event will determine which teams represent RESA I and RESA III at the Regional Science Bowl in Morgantown in the spring.

The Math and Science Bowl held at WVU Tech is an oral academic quiz bowl with questions covering topics in mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus) and science (general science, computer science, biology, chemistry, astronomy, geology, and physics). The competition takes the form of a double elimination tournament in which a maximum of 16 teams compete. A list of participants and winners from previous years is available.

The official registration form, (registration pdf version) as well as the Rules and Regulations have been mailed.  In the case of an overwhelming response the 16 teams whose registration forms arrive the earliest will compete.

The event will start at 9:00 am. and end at approximately 3:00 pm. A tentative agenda is available.
